This is an Atkin ‘The Boosh OS’ Electric Guitar in Pelham Blue Aged Nitro finish. Made in the United Kingdom in 2023, this guitar consists of an Obeche body, a Roasted Quartered Flamed Maple neck, and a 22-fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include an Aged Gotoh dropped-side Ashtray Bridge with Gotoh “intune” saddles, Aged Nickel hardware, Gotoh Vintage-Style 510 tuners, and an Atkin Handwound Boosh Pickup Set. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a three-way pickup selector.
The quality of the craftsmanship is present in every aspect of this mould-breaking guitar. The guys at Atkin have thrown the rule book out of the window and have created one of the most comfortable new body designs. The hand crafted “C” profile relic Flame Maple neck feels like an old friend that you have been reunited with after 50 years of being apart, with extreme comfortability and ease of use. In a similar vein, the nitrocellulose finish gives the impression that this guitar has already been around the block a fair few times, creating character and inspiration from first sight.
The Boosh OS comes fitted with an Atkin Handwound Boosh set of pickups, including a P90 in the neck and a single coil in the bridge. Both pickups are wound with Alnico V Magnets and Plain Enamel wire. The Single Coil provides classic Tele bridge twang, but with a sweetness and clarity that you will only ever find in high-end pickups. The P90 is a masterfully created pickup, with warmth and depth that will keep you occupied for hours on end. The CTS pots offer a pleasing sweep of both volume and tone, allowing the player to access every tone that the pickups have to offer.
